Finance Circuit publishes reporting and analysis to help finance practitioners and the companies that serve them understand decisions, evidence and operating consequences. This policy explains the standards applied to that work.

1. Purpose and accountability

Published work should identify the decision at issue, explain why it matters, support material claims and make the practical consequence clear. The operator is accountable for Finance Circuit’s editorial standards and for the final decision to publish, update or remove material.

2. Sources and verification

We prefer primary material such as laws, regulatory documents, company filings, official product documentation, original datasets, standards and direct interviews. Reputable secondary sources may be used for context or corroboration. Material facts should be checked against the strongest reasonably available source, and links or citations should be provided where they help a reader verify the claim.

Anonymous or confidential sources are used only when the information is important, the source has a credible basis for knowing it and there is a justified reason to protect identity. Claims from a source with a material interest receive additional scrutiny.

3. Analysis, opinion and uncertainty

Reported fact, quoted opinion, analysis and inference should be distinguishable. Estimates, scenarios and forecasts must identify important assumptions and should not be presented as certain outcomes. Where evidence is incomplete or contested, the article should say so in language a reader can understand.

4. Review and publication controls

Review is proportionate to the risk and complexity of the subject. It can include checking names, dates, quotations, calculations, links, source quality, conflicts, legal or regulatory context and whether the headline is supported by the article. Significant methods and limitations should be stated in the article or linked methodology.

Material about a person or organisation may be put to them for comment when fairness, accuracy or seriousness of the claim requires it. A response deadline is set according to the circumstances; a refusal or absence of response does not by itself prevent publication.

5. Commercial relationships

Finance Circuit offers research-led services to companies that sell to finance teams. Editorial judgement is separated from commercial consideration. A client, prospect or source does not receive favourable coverage in exchange for a relationship.

The site does not carry advertising, sponsored articles or affiliate links. If any of those models is introduced, affected material will be clearly labelled and the relationship will be disclosed near the content. See the Disclosure Policy.

6. Use of assisted technology

Software may assist with tasks such as transcription, organisation, search, calculation checks or language review. A human remains responsible for source selection, verification, reasoning, disclosure and the final published work. Sensitive or confidential source material should not be placed into a system without an appropriate basis and protection.

7. Corrections and complaints

Substantive errors are corrected promptly and transparently. Minor spelling, grammar or formatting changes may be made without a notice when they do not alter meaning. The Corrections page explains how to report a concern and how it is assessed.
